What if a day in your neighborhood could take you somewhere unexpected?

A thread.
A hammer.
A piece of clay.
A conversation.
A place for everyone.
What can these tell us about cooperation?
On 25 September 2026, Patras celebrates Interreg Cooperation Day 2026 – “Stronger Together”, a European celebration that, for 15 years, has been bringing territorial cooperation closer to people and local communities.
In the Markato neighbourhood, tradition, creativity and inclusion are meeting through a series of activities that connect local cultural heritage with participation and creative expression.
The event takes place in the framework of the M.A.R.K.A.T.O. and PR.O.GR.E.S.S. projects, successfully implemented under the Interreg Greece-Italy 2021-2027 Programme.
M.A.R.K.A.T.O. – Maintaining And Revitalizing Knowledge And Traditional Occupations focuses on preserving and revitalising traditional occupations and knowledge, highlighting their importance for cultural heritage and the living identity of cities. PR.O.GR.E.S.S. – Promoting Opportunities, Growth and Education for Social Success focuses on the participation and inclusion of people with disabilities in the labour market and social life.
During the day, visitors will have the opportunity to discover traditional techniques and occupations, visit accessible venues, take part in workshops and creative activities, see clay artworks and meet the people who keep these skills and traditions alive.
Activities include accessible visits to a traditional blacksmith’s workshop and a distillery, textile and craft workshops at Aristi’s Lab, as well as a showcase of clay artworks at Mosaic Hub.
In this way, Interreg Cooperation Day becomes more than an opportunity to learn about European cooperation. It becomes a chance to see how cultural heritage, creativity and inclusion can come together in the same place and create a shared experience for everyone.
