17 Interreg cross-border projects are bringing fresh momentum to cooperation between Greece and Albania, addressing shared challenges and unlocking common opportunities:
- Promoting green transition & protecting biodiversity
- Improving sustainable mobility
- Enhancing health services
- Supporting sustainable tourism & culture
With a total budget of €19.2M, the subsidy contracts were signed by Greece’s Alternate Minister of Economy and Finance, Nikos Papathanasis, marking another important milestone for the “Interreg IPA CBC Greece-Albania 2021-2027” Programme.
Bringing together 55 beneficiary organisations of both countries, these EU co-funded projects are set to deliver real, lasting benefits for communities across borders.
Together with three Interreg projects of Strategic Importance already underway, the programme is advancing 20 projects (€25.6M total), mobilising 85% of its resources to create meaningful impact.
Because when regions work together, solutions grow stronger.
